La Roche is at the south-east end of the Cantal,
off the D48 between Pierrefort and Oradour. Grid reference 44°55’1″N, 2°53’45″E.

Getting to us

By car
The journey is about 8 hours’ driving time from Caen, 6 hours from Paris, 4 hours from Montpellier.

By train and hire-car
The nearest SNCF railway station is Saint-Flour (30 minutes drive from La Roche), but coming from the north it is simpler and quicker to take the train from Paris as far as Clermont-Ferrand (2 hours drive) or Issoire (1 hour 20 minutes), and then hire a car.

The train from Paris takes 3 hours 40 minutes to Clermont-Ferrand, and a further 50 minutes to reach Issoire.

By air and hire-car
The nearest airports for La Roche are Clermont-Ferrand  (1 hour 30),  Béziers (3 hours 15), Lyon (3 hours 30), Limoges (3 hours 40), or Toulouse (4 hours).
